A big thanks goes out to Judy at the Rochester Chamber of Commerce for talking with me today about the various promotional efforts that the Chamber can help me with.

Those of you in Rochester, look out....the ad blitz is coming.

Long Time No Post

Time and effort for the last few months has left the old LSN blog a little left behind.

Here is a quick update:
1. RUC has been launched at works great.
2. RUC has no users since I hadn't got around to promoting it until right now.
3. We are working with various partners in the Rochester community to help promote the site.
4. The site will also be promoted with posters and viral marketing, most notably via the Facebook Rochester Community site.

All of this work should be complete before the end of the month, just in time for the spring garage sales.

Cross your fingers.

Business After Hours: Fun Times

Thanks to the Rochester Chamber of Commerce for hosting their Business After hours last night. It was wonderfully put together and don't get me started about the food. The best part was that it was great to talk to a lot of you in the Rochester Community.

I'm excited that we are going to start to spread the word about Rochester UNclassified TONIGHT at the Rochester Chamber of Commerce: Business After Hours Event. This is a great opportunity to highlight Rochester UNclassified to its intended audience.

Rochester UNclassified Launches

It's here!

RUC has launched. I'm really proud of this. It is the first website that LSN has launched in some time.

What really amazes me is the speed that it happened. We took this thing from an idea only a month and a half ago, and transformed it into reality.

I know there are bugs and issues with it, but now I hope that the good people of Rochester, MN are going to help me fix them.

Next, we face a different dilemma. Now that the site is up, we need eyeballs. Our marketing campaign will start popping up all over Rochester in the next few weeks.

SNOW

Not just the "Informer" kind, actual snow.

As I sit here, finishing the last few details of RUC, I'm dreading going out to shovel. Nothing annoys me more than a couple of feet of snow in my driveway. Maybe this is why people languish in Silicon Valley and San Francisco. It helps to motivate you when you know that you are going to be able to get in your car and out of the driveway after a days hacking work.

Still, I promised RUC would launch, and it's going to. Though the "Cracker and Vodka" launch party may be replaced by the "Wet from shoveling" party.
